With a sad heart and precious memories, I will try with the help of the Lord to write the obituary of my uncle, Eugene Cochran. He was born September 27, 1935, to John H and Octavia Cochran in Canada Kentucky, and passed on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 89. He is preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings, leaving behind his wife of 43 years, Connie Cochran, one brother Chester Cochran, Son Stephen (Gracie) Cochran, Daughters Karen (Bart) Ballard, Courtney (JR) Maynard, Stepdaughter Pam Swain, Stepson Micheal (Carynn) Stanley, Ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

At 18, Uncle Gene enlisted in the US Air Force and retired as a Staff Sargent with more than twenty years of service. After retiring from the Air Force, Uncle Gene moved his family to Point Pleasant, WV where he lived for many years. He enjoyed getting to know his neighbors, making friends, and helping others. He eventually moved to Oak Hill Ohio where he remained until his death. Uncle Gene enjoyed telling stories about his childhood, growing up in Kentucky. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed hearing things that made him laugh. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who know him.

Friends may call Monday, October 21, 2024, 6-8 pm at Deal Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 1 pm at the Little Tavie Church, Rt 2 North Point Pleasant WV.
