Ellen Francis Riffle, 79, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away, Monday, January 23, 2023, at Hospice in Huntington, WV. She was born August 12, 1943, in Kenova, WV, a daughter to the late Auvery West and Sue Rutherford West. Ellen retired from the Mason County Board of Education after 30 plus years teaching Fourth Grade at Ordnance Elementary. She was a member at Trinity Methodist Church for over 50 years and enjoyed knitting with her church group. Ellen also had a tradition that she always made a stocking for every child she knew.

She is preceded in death by, Parents; Auvery (Sue) West, Husband; Larry T. Riffle, Daughter; Sarah Robertson, Son in law; Ronald E. Robertson, and Brother; Jack West.

Ellen is survived by Son; L. Scott (Carol) Riffle of Fort Gay, WV, Granddaughter; Ashley Riffle (Brandon Maynard) of Ironton, OH, Grandsons; L. Andrew Riffle (Jaime) of Huntington, WV, and Samuel Robertson of Huntington, WV. Ellen leaves behind three great granddaughters, Eleanor Maynard, Karaline Maynard and Amelia Riffle, who were the stars and the moon in her eyes. She also leaves behind, Sister-in-law; Margaret West of Pittsburgh, Special Niece; Lesa Doeffinger, Best Friend; Bernadine Kayser. She will be missed by many extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Deal Funeral Home with Rev. L. Scott Riffle, Pastor Randy Parsons, and Odie Noble. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on January 28, 2023. Family and Friends will gather after the graveside service at Trinity Methodist Church for dinner. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that a donation be made to Hospice of Huntington. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
