Elijah "Junior" Owen Smith, Jr, 99, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 12, 1925, a son to the late Elijah Owen Smith Sr. and Bertha Sable Miller Smith. Junior worked on the farm for many years. He enjoyed listening to music.

He is preceded in death by, Parents; Elijah (Bertha) Smith, Sr, Wife; Merle Smith, Son; Michael Smith, one brother and six sisters.

Junior is survived by his loving children; Daughter; Paulette Denorch of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, and Son; Randy Smith of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Sister; Vivian G. Nibert of St. Helen, MI. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He will be missed by many extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Russell Stover officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
