Obituary

Edward Finnie "Tommy" Layton, 92, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away May 2, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was born February 2, 1926, in Kanawha Co., WV, a son to the late Thomas Layton and Louise Stover Layton. He started Layton's Garage in 1954, and was a Mill Right at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV, where he worked from 1975-1987. He was also a member of Steelworkers Local #5668 also in Ravenswood. He loved to travel and was an avid camper. He attended many Blue Grass Festivals. He also loved working in his garden, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by parents, Thomas & Louise Layton; wife, Pearl King Layton; daughter, Brenda Nott; granddaughter, Sarah Nott; and grandson, Jace Layton.

He is survived by his special companion of over 27 years, Retha Metz; son, Tom "Butch" Layton, Eddie (Jane) Layton, Don (Amy) Layton, Brian Layton,; daughters, Karen Layton, Dixie (Roger) Walker, and LaLoni (Ed) Ayers; brother, Gene (Janice) Layton; sisters, Pauline Marshall and Permalee Layton; twelve grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren , smf one the way; several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 2 PM, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Ron Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery also in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Saturday evening, May 5, from 5-8 PM. Online condolences can be made at dealfh.com.
