Donna Jean Rawson, (90) of Point Pleasant, WV, surrounded by her family, went to her heavenly home to be reunited with her husband Billy Joe on July 24, 2020. She was born March 11, 1930 in Point Pleasant a daughter to the late Charles Henry Durst and Marie (Flowers) Durst. She was a member of Krebs Chapel United Methodist Church for 64 years. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School class of 1947.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William J. (Bill) Rawson and brothers Ralph L. Durst and Charles William (Bill) Durst both of Letart, WV. Donna is survived by her sons, William David (Anna) Rawson of Milton, Delaware and Michael Bruce (Cindy) Rawson of Point Pleasant, WV; Sister Rose Marie (Dwight) Baker of Letart, WV; Sister-in-laws, Mary Hart of Letart, WV, Frankie Duncan of Point Pleasant, WV, Reverend Annetta Durst of Letart, WV and Ann Rawson of Southside, WV. Granddaughters, Heather (Oden) Austin of Middletown, Delaware, Dr. Ashley (Jeremy) Kerekes of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Cara (Phillip) Holland of Parkersburg, WV, Erica Rawson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Brooke Rawson (James Holland) of Brooklyn, New York. Great grandchildren, Michael Austin, William Austin, Ella Austin, Noah Kerekes, Allie Kerekes and several nieces and nephews.

Donna enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Tuesday Morning Bowling League at Skyline Lanes of Gallipolis, Ohio. Softball was a passion in her early life, and she pitched for the Point Pleasant Merchanettes slow-pitch softball team. Donna was an avid fan of Point Pleasant High School football in addition to WVU and Marshall sports. Organizing Christmas plays for the church and writing poetry, songs and memoirs of her family's activities brought her great joy. Along with her friend Regina Stalnaker, Donna published many monthly church newsletters at Krebs Chapel.

Honorary Pall Bearers: Troy Duncan, Floyd Charles Baker, Randy Durst, Kenny Baker, Carl Daniel Baker, Corey Clonch, Jeremy Kerekes, Oden Austin, Michael Austin, William Austin, Dale Durst and Ronnie Durst. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Donna's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105

To encourage safety and social distancing, the family invites friends to a drive-through visitation at Kirkland Memorial Gardens on Friday July 31st from 11:00 to noon. Committal services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. John Bumgardner and Annetta Durst officiating. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
