Donald Edward Gillispie Sr, 83, of Ashton, WV, entered the presence of his Lord, with his loving family at his side, on August 25, 2018, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Point  Pleasant, WV, where he had been a resident.  Don was born in Pliny on November 2, 1934, to Elra and Hazel North Gillispie, both of whom preceded him in death. He retired as a welder from Kyger Creek Electrical Power Plant, and was a member of Utility Workers Union Local 430. He spent much of his life raising, riding, and breaking horses, and loved camping and bluegrass music. He became a Christian  and was a faithful member of Moore's Chapel Church.

Surviving him are his wife, Esther Winifred Gillispie, his son, Donald Gillispie Jr. (Bonnie) of Ashton, his daughter Sheila Evick, (Rock)   of Franklin, WV.,  Sister Vonda Powers, four grandchildren; Michael Gillispie(Sandra), Jacob Gillispie ( Brittany),  Anthony Evick, and  Codi Evick, and four great Grandchildren;  Logan, Brayden, Grant,  and Aniston

Preceding him in death were two siblings, Randall  "Bud" McCarty and Gladys Black.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home for their kind and loving care, as well as Dr. Toothman and his staff for their thorough attention.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Deal Funeral Home at 1:00  P.M. with Charles Langdon officiating. Burial will  be in the Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on  Tuesday, August 28, 2018.
