Don L. Birchfield, 73, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to be with the Lord December 13, 2020, while at Cabell Huntington, Hospital. He was born July 30, 1947, in Cabell county, WV, a son to the late Otho Birchfield and the late Anna Hoover Birchfield. He was a fabricator in the steel industry. He also worked at Walmart until his retirement. He was an outgoing soul who loved to visit with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Anna Hoover Birchfield; brother, Charles Birchfield; sisters, Loretta Hughes; and brothers-in-law, Allen (Loretta) Hughes,  Steve Tomlinson, and Gary McCoy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry; daughters, Penny of Gallipolis, OH, and Cindy (John) Ferrell of Gallipolis, and Stephanie (Max Snider) Nibert of Gallipolis; sisters, Shirley (henry) Gibbs of Ohio, Joyce (ray) Edmonds of Glenwood, WV, Martha (Rodger) Wroten of Glenwood, Patricia Tomlinson of Ashton, WV, and Carolyn McCoy of Apple Grove, WV; brothers, Carl (Ruth) Birchfield of Point Pleasant, WV, Billy (Delores) Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, Dale Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 11 AM, at Apple Grove Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Ted Nance officiating. Strict social distancing and face masks are required to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association.
