Della Mae Sauer, 87, of Point Pleasant, WV, went home to be with the Lord September 26, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 29, 1932, in Meigs County, OH, a daughter to the late Curtis D. Johnson and Bertha Eaton Johnson. She was once employed at the Sylvania Plant, but mainly was a homemaker to her husband and children. She was a member of Good Shepherd U.M. Church in Point Pleasant, but attended various other churches throughout the area where she played piano and organ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Bertha Johnson; her beloved husband of over 53 years, John Paul  "JP" Sauer; brothers, Harry Johnson, Roy Johnson, Dale Johnson, and Clyde Johnson; sister, Ruth Johnson Smith; grandson, Hans Michael Stump, and infant grandson, Daniel Stump; and grandson in law, Brandon Warner.

She is survived by her daughters, Charmaine Sauer of Newcastle, PA, and Kelly (Brad) Clark of Point Pleasant; sister, Eileen Johnson Cartright of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Heidi (John David) Shelton of Spencer, WV, Haley (Marcello) Strangis of Cannonsburg, PA, and Olivia (Kyle Taubenheim) Warner of Amelia, OH; great grandchildren, Layla St.Onge, Lucia Strangis, and Brooks Taubenheim; and several extended family members, friends, and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services will be held at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant, Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 11 AM, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the charity of your choice in Della's memory.
