Delbert Eugene Putney, 76, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away August 16, 2020. He was born August 7, 1944, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late Russell Putney and Blanch McCarty Putney. He was a welder and retired from ACF after 27 years of service. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing in his spare time. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Blanch Putney; beloved wife, Geraldine Putney; and beloved daughter, Sandra Elaine Putney, sister Ruth Ann McFarland and brother Carl Putney.

He is survived by his loving son, Darrell (Tabitha) Putney of Gallipolis Ferry, and granddaughter, Serenity Putney also of Gallipolis Ferry; sister Emma Lou (Bob) from Florida, and a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors.

As per his wishes, a graveside service will be held at Concord Cemetery in Henderson, WV, Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 1 PM. As per the governor's guidelines social distancing and facemasks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the family to defray funeral costs. Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, is serving the family.
