Dawn Marie Dempsey, 51, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 13, 2017, at her home. She was born October 29, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio, to William and Dora (Dingess) Sexton.


Dawn was a homemaker who committed her life to her devoted companion of 20 years, Douglas Trippett, Sr., and her two grandsons who lived with her, Isaiah and Izaac.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dora, as well as a sister, Joyce Jarvis, and a son, Chris Miller.

In addition to her significant other, Doug, surviving family include: Two sisters, Brenda (Charles) Tackett, and Regina (Larry) Bundy, all from Chillicothe, Oh; Two daughters and one stepdaughter, Melea (James) Healy, of Florida,  Amber Dempsey, of Gallipolis Ferry, and  Sara (Sherman) Ward, of Ashton, WV; One son and one stepson, Keith (Michaela) Dempsey of Indiana, and Douglas (Amber) Trippett, Jr, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV. Donna was a grandmother to fourteen grandchildren: Cheyanne, Justin, Aden, Kylea, Bentley, Izaac, Isaiah, Hannah, Caleigh, Cameron, Kaiden, Elijah, Shaelyn, and Carson. She was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 2 PM,  at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Marshall Bonecutter officiating. Burial will follow at Apple Grove Memorial Gardens in Apple Grove, WV. Visiting hours for friends and family are set from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 17th, at the funeral home.
