Obituary

David "Davey" Wesley McCoy, 42 of Henderson WV went home to be with the lord and his father and brothers on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.  Born, December 30, 1977, he was the son of the late Jackie "Jack" Lee McCoy, Sr. and Karen Sue McCoy. David never met a stranger and opened his heart of gold to every person he met. When not hunting, fishing or trapping he could be found sitting on his recliner enjoying the newest episode of Live P.D. and reminiscing about his time as a police officer, serving and protecting the town of Henderson and the people he loved dearly or taking his mom Carol breakfast. Davey was there for anyone who needed him day or night. He was always seen with a smile and was always laughing and enjoying life especially when around kids. Of all the loves Davey had, none compared to his family, to which his world revolved around.

Left to cherish the precious memories of Davey is his loving, devoted wife Ashley Grimm McCoy. He is also survived by his children Carrington Paige McCoy, Triston Bayleigh McCoy and sweet baby Aurora whom he loved and adored; grandson Amerson; stepdaughter Halyn Rylee Imber Grimm; mom Carol Plants-McCoy; brothers Jimmy (Trinity) McCoy, William "Artie" (Lori) McCoy; sister Jackie (Scott) McCoy-Sinnet and Mary McCoy. He is also survived by special nephews he considered to be brothers Colby and Justin McCoy, along with numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Davey is preceded in death by his dad Jackie "Jack" McCoy Sr., his brothers Jackie "J.L." McCoy Jr. and Derek George Grimes.

He was the baby and, as is often the case with "the baby" both indulged and adored, so words simply cannot express what his sudden loss means to the McCoy family. We take comfort in the fact that he has claimed his place in Glory, as he longed and looked forward to the day when he could be reunited with his mother, father and brothers in Heaven.

A service will be observed at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family is asking in lieu of flowers donations be made to Deal Funeral Home at 1401 Kanawha Street, Point Pleasant, West Virginia 25550.
