Daniel Ray Cook, 55, of Point Pleasant, WV, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Emogene Dolin Hospice House after long illness.

The son of Marlene Carol Jones Cook and the late Ernest Jackson Cook. He was born July 9, 1969, in Hinton, WV and attended Peterstown High School, Class of 1987.

He loved motorcycles, airplanes and helicopters and enjoyed building model cars.

At the age of 22, Daniel enlisted in the United States Army on November 6, 1991, and was honorable discharged July 6,1998. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of SGT. As part of this service, Daniel achieved Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, Parachutist Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-W Bar and Army Achievement Medal.

He is preceded in death by, Father, Ernest Cook.

Daniel is survived by Mother; Marlene Cook of Point Pleasant, WV, Brothers; David (Theresa) Cook of Raleigh, NC, and Kevin Cook (Amanda Croy) of Peterstown, WV, Sister; Valerie (Ryan) Grady of Point Pleasant, WV. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on July 19, 2024, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Jonathon Pinson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. An Inurnment will take place at a later date. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
