Dale Otho Birchfield, 71, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to be with the Lord February 14, 2021, while at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born October 5, 1949, a son to the late Otho Birchfield and the late Anna Hoover Birchfield. He was retired from SMC Barboursville, WV. Dale was a member of the House of Praise and Worship of Point Pleasant, WV. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his retirement years. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Anna Birchfield; brothers, Charles Birchfield, Donnie Birchfield; sister, Loretta Hughes; brother-in-laws, Allen (Loretta) Hughes, Steve Tomlinson, and Gary McCoy.

He is survived by his sons, Jeremy and Martha Birchfield of Apple Grove, WV, and Eric and Stephanie Birchfield of Leon, WV; sisters, Shirley (Henry) Gibbs of Rodney, OH, Joyce (Ray) Edmonds of Glenwood, WV, Martha (Roger) Wroten of Glenwood, Patricia Tomlinson of Ashton, WV, and Carolyn McCoy of Apple Grove, WV; brothers, Carl (Ruth) Birchfield of Point Pleasant and Billy (Delores) Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; grandchildren, Dakota Birchfield, Wyatt Birchfield, Autumn Birchfield, Alexis Birchfield, and Daxton Birchfield; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.

A graveside service will be held Saturday February 20, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Apple Grove, WV, at 1 PM with Pastor Jimmy Thornton officiating.
