Obituary

Connie Sue Parsons (Goodman), 72, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2020, in Huntington, WV after an extended illness.

Born on September 11, 1948, in Point Pleasant, Connie was the daughter of the late James Glenn and Rosetta Huddleston Goodman. Connie was a fine beautician for 45 years. She worked with her sisters, Joanne and Kathy, for most of her illustrious career. Outside of work, she knew how to have fun and enjoy everything life had to offer. She loved the sun, the beach, dancing, and anything with an American Flag or vanilla scented. Most of all, her unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and families went unmatched. Connie never met a stranger. Anyone who met her infectious personality left with a smile, and maybe a new haircut. Her chair was the go-to for the latest style. She was a beloved Mom, Nanny, Sister, Aunt, and Friend and will be deeply missed.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Meia Goodman, and special granddaughter and best friend Miracle Goodman of Gallipolis; sons, Rodney Parsons (Patricia) of Ona, and Derek Parsons; grandchildren, Garret Parsons, Lacy Parsons, Trevor Parsons, Devon Parsons, Taylor Parsons, Zachary Parsons, London Parsons; great-grandchildren, Maurice (Moe) Austin III and Meriq Austin; sisters, Kathy (Dwight) Kreiser of Wheeling, Shirley Leport of Point Pleasant, and Lisa Goodman of Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Cwiertniewicz, brother, Captain James Glenn Goodman, Jr., and sisters, Diana Neal and Joanne Fillinger.

The Memorial Service for Connie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Deal Funeral Home with Bill Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, even though she loved her roses, the family asks you to do something special for your hairdresser.  Those in attendance are asked to follow CDC guidelines and West Virginia mandates of practicing social distancing and wearing face masks.
