Obituary

Connie Lynn Mitchem, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at Rivers Health Hospital in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. She was born on October 15, 1955, a day that would mark the beginning of a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Connie's life spanned a beautiful 69 years, during which she touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.

Connie was born to Charles Odell Fisher Sr. and Norma Jean (Cline) Fisher in Point Pleasant, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: her brothers, Chuck (Charles Odell Fisher Jr.), Thomas Fisher, Jonathan Fisher, and her sister, "Symra-Gail" Gail Fisher. Though her family has mourned the loss of many, Connie's spirit will forever remain a guiding light for all who knew her.

Connie was married to the love of her life, Bill Mitchem, for an incredible 44 years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Laura (Jesse) Buck and Ian (Lisa) Mitchem, who carry forth Connie's legacy of warmth and generosity. As a grandmother, Connie found immeasurable joy in her grandchildren, Hunter, Braedon, and Jacob Buck, who brought her endless happiness and pride.

A devoted homemaker, Connie poured her heart into creating a nurturing environment for her family. Her dedication to her loved ones was evident in everything she did—whether it was preparing a family meal, planning special gatherings, or simply being there to lend a listening ear. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and valued, ensuring that her home was a sanctuary of love.

While Connie was not known for specific hobbies or community organizations, her passion for family was her greatest pastime. She believed in the importance of togetherness, often organizing family get-togethers that would be filled with laughter, stories, and an abundance of love.

Connie Lynn Mitchem leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered and honored by her husband Bill, her children Laura and Ian, her grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, the impact of her life will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. In the words of her loved ones, she was truly a remarkable woman whose spirit will never be forgotten.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the nurses and staff at Rivers Health Hospital.
