Clinton Elmer Hix, 86, of Point Pleasant, WV slipped away from his family to enter heaven on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at home that he shared with his niece Stacey Glenn and Carl Bowens and their family, who were his caregivers. He was watched over and loved by his family especially the ones who shared his home and his life, Pepsi Marchal, Ronnie "Bubby" Glenn, Shawn Glenn, and Noelle Glenn.
Uncle Clinton was born on August 20, 1937, in Mount Sterling, Ohio, to the late Alice (Parker) Hix and Albert Hix. He was raised in Springfield, Ohio and lived and worked in and around Circleville, OH. Uncle Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother and sister-in-law, Samuel (Shirley) Hix from Corpus Christie, TX and his sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Clarence) Patterson, from Point Pleasant, WV, who he cared for until their death.
Uncle Clinton never married or had any children of his own, but he survived and will always be loved and remembered by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews whose lives were intertwined with his.
He is survived by, Nieces and Nephews; Teri (Benny) DeWeese of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Stacey Glenn (Carl Bowens) of Point Pleasant, WV, Candy (JR) Lee of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Clarence "June" (Meghan) Patterson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Lamar "Pete" (Tina) Patterson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Great Nieces and Nephews; Pepsi Marchal, Ronnie "Bubby" Glenn, Shawn Glenn, Nicole "Nikki" (Sheldon Mercer) Glenn, Annie (Matt) Blanton, Noah (Jesse) DeWeese, James "Jamey" (Deidra) Lee, Kamman (Bryan) Arthurs, Courtney Lee and Macee Patterson, Dorrian (Hannah) Patterson and Trucker "TJ" (Kimberly) Johnson, Great Great Nieces and Nephews; Sophie and Samuel "Moosey" Mitchell, Jayme Campbell, Kase Pheonix, Noelle Glenn, Ariana Glenn, Zoey and Cali Mercer, JJ and Justice Lee, Virginia "June Bug" and Wesley Arthurs, Miya, Ethan and Tanner Johnson, Landen, Aubrey, Izaiah and Ryker Hunter.
Uncle Clinton was a veteran in the US Army from 1954-1957 and served with the demolition crew in Germany during the Vietnam War. We have never lived without Uncle Clinton, he was a vital and important person in all our lives and will be missed terribly, He attended New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant with his family. A special thank you to Mason County Action Group for helping us take care of Uncle Clinton, so he could stay home with his family.
A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Mel Mock officiating. Burial will follow at Patterson Clonch Family Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
