Charlotte Rose Knaul, 98, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away May 18, 2018, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born May 17, 1920, in Hamilton, OH, a daughter to the late Ernest Balsey and Flora Lacey Balsey. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Point Pleasant.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Flora Balsey; husband, Robert A. Knaul; children, Robert Ernest Knaul, Charlotte Jane Knaul, and Carol Rene Jarrell; grandchildren, Ronald Ashley Wilkins, Jonah Nathaniel Jarrell, Donald Robert Knaul, and Jeffrey Oden Clark; sisters, Patsy, Ethel, Scyrene; and brother, Sonny.

She is survived by daughters, Belinda (Jeff) Clark and Edie (Pat) Legg, all of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Patty, Taryn, Mandy, Quentin, Miranda, Shelly, Jessica, Jacob; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, friends and extended family.

Charlotte "Mamaw" was known for her iconic style and being dressed to the nines no matter the occasion. Adorned in sequins and jewels, she received compliments wherever she went. One of her greatest accomplishments was being crowned The Point Pleasant Sternwheel Regatta Heritage Queen in 2016. Charlotte loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, where she attended the 2016 Miss USA pageant, The Bahamas, and her other "home" in Florida, most recently traveling to Ft. Lauderdale in April to honor her late daughter, Carol, in the American Heart Association Heart Walk. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Senior Center, going to yard sales to find "treasures", reading mystery novels, and watching the Investigation Discovery Channel. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 1 PM, with Rich Bartolli officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens in Gallipolis, OH. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 11-1 PM prior to the service.
