Carlos Glenn Pauley, 73, of Apple Grove, WV went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital.  Carlos was born March 8, 1951, a son to the late Ward Wheeler and Susie Pauley. Carlos worked on the river for 50 years for Campbell's Transportation, serving many of those years as a captain and pilot of those towboats. He was a man of a few words, but always took care of and provided for his family.

He was preceded in death by, Wife; Debra Lynn Pauley, Two Daughters; Deann Marie Pauley and Carla Dawn Waugh and many other loved family members and friends.

Carlos is survived by four granddaughters who loved their paw paw; Geena Wears (Mickey Settle) of Apple Grove, WV, Maggie (Justin) Frye of Baker, WV, Emmie (Johnsey) Woods of Milton, WV and Jonnie Waugh of Milton, WV. He is also survived by three sweet great grandchildren, Parker, Oaklynn and Mackenzie who adored their "Captain Hook".

Carlos' struggle is now over, and at his request, there will be no services. The family welcomes prayers and thanks everyone for the ones that have been sent up. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
