Carl R Birchfield, age 82, of Point Pleasant, WV, was reunited with his love, Ruth Birchfield on Thursday, July 9th, 2026. Carl was surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born on December 9, 1943, to the late Otho and Anna (Hoover) Birchfield in Apple Grove, WV. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Donnie and Dale Birchfield and one sister Loretta Hughes.

Carl was a devoted, loving husband and father He was a member of Point of Faith Church in Point Pleasant, WV as well as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and making lifelong memories with all of his family members. He was also retired from CSX Railroad.

Survivors include his children - Carl William (Sonia) Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Joseph Roger (Chani) Birchfield of Apple Grove, WV, Sherry Ann (Johnnie) Wamsley of Point Pleasant, WV, and Priscilla Faye Mcgee of South Carolina. Grandchildren - Cody Birchfield, Evan Birchfield, Morgan Scarberry, Anna Fannin, Courtney Wallis, Chase Birchfield, Skylar Birchfield, Zachary McCormick, Hannah McCormick, and Jared McGee, as well as several great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Sisters - Shirley (Henry) Gibbs of Gallipolis, Ohio, Joyce Edmonds and Martha (Roger) Wroten of Glenwood, WV, Patricia Tomlinson of Ashton, WV, Carolyn McCoy of Apple Grove, WV and brother Billy (Delores) Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, WV.

Services will be held Monday, July 13th, 2026, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with service at 12:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Apple Grove Memorial Gardens in Apple Grove, WV with Pastor Mark Mayes officiating.
