Obituary

Beverly Jane Sturgeon, loving wife and precious mother, passed away peacefully September 23, 2021 with her family at her side at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Beverly was born October 13, 1947 to Manuel Setliff and Hallie (Garrison) Setliff in Fraziers Bottom, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Handley Edward Setliff, R.L. Garrison, Sherri Maxey and Chuck Rotert.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Lee Sturgeon, children, Elizabeth Sturgeon, Tina (Brent) Lucabaugh, Ron (Lisa) Sturgeon and Rebecca Farley, grandchildren, Braxton (Elizabeth) Sturgeon, Samantha Sturgeon, Jackson Farley, Caleb Clark, Kristi Dinkins, great grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Kaylee and Mason Sturgeon, Carson Person, William Dinkins. Additional survivors include brothers, Jim, Donnie and Rodney Setliff, and Mike Rotert, sisters, Dona Chapman, Cathern Meadows and Anita Setliff, stepsister, Sue Smith, stepmother, Wyoldine Setliff. Beverly had a special place in her heart for Betsy Allen who considered her as a second mother.

Beverly worked at American Red Cross as a LPN where she made many friends including Sue Kelley. She was a loving mother who took her children to church and taught them about God. She encouraged them to complete their education and taught them anything worth doing was worth doing right. She enjoyed  spending time with her family and seldom missed having Sunday dinner with them. She passed on her gift of great cooking to all of her children and grandchildren. Beverly also enjoyed finding a good bargain and loved going to thrift stores and yard sales. She also enjoyed taking trips and was always ready to pack her bags to go with her family.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 28 at 11:00 A.M. at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. with Elmer "Bud" Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Moore's Chapel Church Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to service. Social distancing and facemask are recommended for everyone's safety.
