Betty Frances McDermitt 85, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Sunday, July 8, 2018, with her loving family at her side. She was born January 9, 1933, in Mason County, WV, a daughter to the late William Wamsley and Molly Smith Wamsley. She was a homemaker. She was famous for her home cooking, and she enjoyed watching tv.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Molly Wamsley; son, Pete McDermitt; daughter, Mary Casto; brothers, James, Lloyd, Cecil, William, Charlie, Rodney, and Marvin Wamsley; and sisters, Helen Abel, and Ester Reynolds.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Susan) McDermitt of Nashville, TN; daughters, Connie McDermitt of Point Pleasant, Patricia McDermitt of Point Pleasant, and Billy McDermitt also of Point Pleasant; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 8 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM prior to the service. Online condolences can be made at www.dealfh.com.
