Bernice Campbell, age 54, of West Columbia, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Bernice was born on August 4, 1972, to James and Sandra Kapp.

Bernice was a registered nurse who dedicated herself to caring for others. Beyond her work, she found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially flowers and gardening. She enjoyed the beauty of nature and the joy of watching things grow. Her beloved American Bulldog, Duke, also held a special place in her heart and brought companionship and happiness to her life.

She leaves behind her two sons, Jeremy Halley and Mitchell Halley, who were an important part of her life. She also served as guardian to Brayden Skeens, Rebeckah Roush-Kapp, and Braxton Roush, providing a meaningful presence in their lives. Bernice was a proud grandmother to Elijah, Elliana, and Everlee Halley, as well as Harper and Langston Halley. Her grandchildren brought an abundance of love and joy into her life, and they will forever carry the memories of their grandmother in their hearts. She is also survived by her siblings, Marsha Hindy, James I. Kapp, and Sara Kapp.

Per her wishes, Bernice will be buried privately surrounded by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, her family kindly asks for assistance with her funeral expenses.
