Obituary

Andrew Scott Dowler, 30, of Point Pleasant, left this world on November 22, 2025.

Andrew was born on June 1, 1995 to Doris Hayes and the late Roger Dowler Sr.

He was one of a kind. Andy loved life, even during the hard parts. He never met a stranger, no
matter where he went and he would help anyone in need.

Andy loved to "tinker" on things. From the time he was able to hold a screwdriver, he started
taking things apart in the name of "fixing them." He loved to work on cars, draw and fish.

Andy was an advocate for sobriety and was a fierce believer that if sharing his story would help just one person find recovery, then it was worth it. He recently celebrated two years of sobriety with six months off of Medically Assisted Treatment, an accomplishment that filled him with pride.

He was a manager of Subway in Gallipolis Ferry and enjoyed working with his team.

Andy loved his people fiercely. He was the "baby" of the family and loved to remind his siblings that it made him the favorite. Andy was one of the proudest uncles and had an abundance of friends that he considered family.

Andrew is survived by his mother, Doris Hayes; sister Brittany (Ryan) Hively; brothers: Roger
Dowler Jr. and Jerry Lee Chapman; one special little girl, Haylynn; and a number of nieces and
nephews.

Andrew is preceded in death by his father, Roger Dowler Sr and grandmother, Faye VanSickle.
Andy tried to find the joy in life no matter his circumstances. He also believed that if he could
turn his life around, anyone could.

Services for Andrew will be Monday, December 1, 2025 with at 12 p.m. at Deal Funeral Home
with visitation an hour prior for family and friends. Dr. Richard Sargent will be officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson Cemetery (Redmond Ridge).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help with funeral expenses. Deal Funeral Home,
